COULD YOU EXPLAIN MORE ABOUT HOW BEING A WOMAN HAS AFFECTED YOUR CAREER?

I think being a woman has affected my career in a good way. I work as an influencer and fashion has always been my main focus. Every day I help women on Instagram with their wardrobes as well as tips and tricks to styling. During my time as an influencer, I’ve spent a lot of time trying to understand my followers (92% of them are women) and what needs they have regarding styling. Since I’m a woman myself. I recognize and experience many of the same dilemmas as the women who contact me. This allows me to relate to them, put myself in their positions and guide them the best possible way.

WHICH OTHER FEMALE ARTIST INSPIRE YOU AND WHY?

For me, an artist can be many different things and I’m really inspired by my dear friend Laura Schrøder and her firm PROJEKT CPH. Her creative skills, ability to think in new ways and visually make it all work together, is something I truly admire. Often, I share my work ideas with Laura because she’s always really good at seeing opportunities and different perspectives.

WHAT HAS BEEN THE MOST CHALLENGING ASPECT OF BEING A FEMALE ARTIST?

The most challenging thing about being a female artist is probably that my style is quite feminine and I love to use a lot of feminine colors, which deter most men. I experience that the women love my paintings but their husbands usually think that there is too much pink. I get a lot of inquiries about certain colors but when I paint, I paint from the heart and not from orders. I rely on my gut feeling and intuition and feel like I’ll lose that freedom if I have to paint on orders with limits.

IF YOU COULD OWN ONE PIECE OF ART WHAT WOULD IT BE AND WHY?

I really hope people see all the little details in my paintings. At first sight, it’s not always possible to see but if you take your time to study my paintings closely, you will find many small hidden details. I spend a lot of time on each painting as I love many layers and how the many layers can create depth. And of course, I hope my paintings and the many colors will make people happy – at least that is how I felt while painting.

Every Tuesday we bring you a new interview with a female artist.
